![Transepithelial electrical resistance (TER) ( a ) and IL-8 ( b ), and TNF-α ( c ) mRNA expression levels in polarized tight monolayers of T84 intestinal epithelial cells challenged with culture supernatants from wild type V. cholerae strain C6707 (C6706wt) and the PrtV deletion mutant ( ΔprtV ) cultured in LB broth at the apical side for 5 hours at 37°C.
